Inventors & Makers has been recognised by some of the leading voices in children's education and activity provision, and our founder Laura is a regular contributor to the UK's leading teaching publications.

Awards & Recognition
We're proud of the recognition we've received over the years, though in 2026 we made a deliberate decision to step back from award entries and focus our energy on growing our Inventioneer network and supporting the teachers joining our team across the UK.
In October 2025 our founder Laura won Silver in the Best Business Woman Working with Children & Families category — one of the UK's most prestigious business awards for women.
In May 2025 we were named 3rd best children's activity provider in the UK in the Club Hub Top 100 - the biggest awards for children's activity providers in the country, judged by a panel of industry experts. We were also shortlisted as finalists in Independent Business of the Year.
In May 2025 Laura was recognised as a finalist in a field of over 300 Woman Who Achieves entries. The judges said: "We could only admire the fabulous work that Laura is doing to support and empower children to think creatively."
In February 2025 we were shortlisted as finalists in two categories at the inaugural Institute of Children's Activity Providers Awards - Trailblazer and Customer Service Champion.
In 2023 we won Marketing Pop Star of the Year at the Club Hub Awards - the biggest awards for children's activity providers in the UK. We were also finalists for Independent Business of the Year and Digital Business of the Year.
Media & Expert Contributions
Teach Primary Magazine:
Laura has been a regular contributor and STEM expert for Teach Primary - the UK's leading professional development magazine for primary school teachers. Her articles cover the importance of engineering in the curriculum, teaching engineering in KS1, and planning ideas for KS2.
TTS Resources STEM Ambassador:
Laura has been a STEM Ambassador for TTS Resources - the UK's leading educational resources supplier. She created a series of videos and articles with practical ideas for using everyday resources to inspire STEM learning around structures and mechanisms, from EYFS to KS2.
Laura partnered with TTS Resources to create a series of videos and articles with practical STEAM ideas for early years practitioners - covering how to use everyday resources to inspire curiosity and creativity in nursery and Reception settings.
In January 2025 we were featured as a top enrichment provider in School Fundraising magazine — aimed at PTAs and school fundraising bodies looking for high-quality activities for their pupils.
