About the Event

SOLD OUT please email info@inventorsandmakers.com to join our waiting list and find out about new class dates first

Class requirements:

  • Access to a computer or tablet to use Zoom.us and sufficient internet speed to stream video
  • Paper, pencil
  • Paperclips x 5, tape, string/thread/cotton/wool, marble/ball/toy car, 3 pencils/felts of the same weight

In this 45-minute class, children will learn about what a machine is; what the 6 simple machines are and where they are used; and they will build some of their own simple machines. We will also give them follow up ideas of other machines they could build from items around their house.

We will provide a class resource sheet for parents with what the class covers and some follow-up ideas to extend learning.

Classes are led by a qualified and experienced teacher and pupil numbers are limited.

Please be aware that to work online, we have had to modify the style and content of our popular workshops and classes. We usually provide lots of resources, collaboration time and direct teacher feedback. All of these will of course be limited during virtual classes, but we hope that children will still learn from and enjoy the class format.
