Mini Makers: Inventing & Making (ages 5-7)
Time & Location
About the Event
We start the day by thinking about what inventions are and how inventions solve problems. Then, using a given theme, children investigate problems and then brainstorm solutions, before they come up with their own inventions in groups.
In the afternoon session, we take part in making challenges using basic materials to focus on creativity.
The activities across the day follow a storyline to keep children engaged and excited about what they are doing.
By the end of the day, children will understand the purpose of inventions and will have designed and built their own inventions. These inventions are shared with parents through photos and videos where permission is given.
As always at Inventors & Makers classes, the learning will focus on promoting problem solving, creativity and collaboration, while children take part in fun and engaging activities. We build in plenty of breaks and fun games to keep children focussed.
Our classes have an informal and relaxed environment and are limited to a small number of children to maximise teacher support. After each workshop, parents receive detailed feedback on their child's participation, including photos where appropriate.
We'd love to have your child join us to learn new skills, make new friends and have a lot of fun!
