Inventing & Robot Making (ages 8-11)
Time & Location
About the Event
NOTE-THIS CLASS IS NOW SOLD OUT.
There is one space remaining in our App Making class.
We recommend you sign up to our mailing list to find out about the dates of our summer classes in the next couple of weeks.
Using child friendly robotics kits, children will be guided through the process of building and programming a simple robot. As they do so they will be developing a basic understanding of electronics and computer programming. They will be encouraged to problem solve when they encounter issues.
By the end of the day, children will understand what robots are and where they are used in the world around us. They will also have tried robot design themselves, built a robot from component parts, and programmed a robot using motors, lights and sensors.
As always at Inventors & Makers classes, the learning will focus on promoting problem solving, creativity and collaboration, while children take part in engaging activities.
Our classes have an informal and relaxed environment and are limited to a small number of children to maximise teacher support. After each class, parents receive detailed feedback on their child's participation, including photos where appropriate.
We'd love to have your child join us at this class to learn new skills, make new friends and have a lot of fun!
All equipment and technology is provided for the class price.
*Please note that this class will cover the same content as our Inventors & Robot Makers class during the Easter holidays. If your child is interested in doing a second Robot Makers class, we recommend you wait until we run a Part 2 class during the summer holidays and choose a different class to attend during May half term.
